These photos are enroute (by van)
from Jasper to Lake Louise and Banff. Along the way we saw
The Athabascar River and icefields, several
glaciers, and wildlife including
elk, bear, bighorn sheep, Clark's nutcracker, chipmunks, ravens, etc.

Peyto Lake (glacial)

An exhibit quilt at the Icefields Museum and gift shop.

Although I never learned the reason, my paternal
grandmother spoke often of Lake Louise, always dreamed
of visiting, but never had the chance.
It was, therefore, very special for me to finally see it.

Bow River Falls, Banff

Peyto Lake, with portion of glacial bedrock exposed.

The famous Banff Hotel

Harlequin Duck near Jasper Lodge.

Red-necked grebe, regal on her nest atop reeds in lake near Jasper Lodge.

Mount Robson, which we apparently were very lucky
to see as often and as clearly as we did;
many have told us it's usually shrouded in clouds and mist and storms.

Sunset from our inn at Jasper.
