COPPER CANYON TRIP JULY 2005

These photos are from the intergenerational Elderhostel tour that grandson Jasper, age 10, and I went on the first part of July this year. I've chopped them to fairly small sizes, in hopes they will load to your computer to view in reasonable amounts of time. For the most part, the photos are self-explanatory. They are detailed more in a "report" which isn't here and the few captions tie to that narrative also ... but it may be more than a lot of folks really want to read. If you want a copy, please email me and I'll send as an attachment to an email.

Starting out from Portland airport

Hotel Santa Anita, Los Mochis: the first meal

Topolobampo Bay; Nolan, his mother, and his grandmother had come in a day early to acclimate, just as we had done.

ALL ABOARD!

Head of Table

Some of entertainment provided by local youngsters

Horse so gentle, it barely MOVED!

SURPRISE! Each unique handcrafted chair proved comfortable!

No electricity at the Sierra Lodge, but it was time to tackle some laundry ... I think the staff was amused as a couple of us scrubbed, swatted, scraped, dabbed, wrung, and hung in the massive stone tubs and little plastic buckets provided.

Great views from the cliff dwellings, but that water source down there where the little grey-white path leads, in center of photo, seems a VERY long way to be hauling the buckets!
