PHOTOS, HODAKA DAYS 2004 -- Saturday Parade

The count, verified by independent counters, was 75 bikes in the parade. Of course, there are 200 or maybe more in the town, park, on trailers, saved for trials, or whatever. It is rather comical to watch the parade pass a trailer load of 5 more "sidelined" Hodakas! Harry Taylor gave the riders their instructions, as usual, followed by a memorial moment of silence to commemorate the passing of Mildred Miley, previous years' parade marshall. Then Chuck Swanson set off as the pace cycle, with others streaming along behind. Jay Lael put on a bit of a show for sidewalk spectators, while Jim Pomeroy rode perhaps the entire way on just his rear wheel.
