Awards

Special service awards, named in memory of John Patterson, went to Ed Chesnut for his writing regularly for The Resonator and for faithful annual organization of the observed trials; Earl Burrowes for his tireless promotion of Hodakas and for flying the big Hodaka flag at events hither and yon; Jay Lael for year-after-year trials organization and instructing/mentoring trials riders of all ages; and Dave Rozier for his ever-ready toolkit and repairs expertise no matter who, when, or where.

All For The Sake Of A Highway Sign

Last year three Hodaka women conspired and rigged Paul out in a rather shabby printed house dress to wander the hall and pass the hat for money toward a permanent Home of Hodaka sign to be placed out on Highway 11. $1207 was collected! So what do those women do this year? They produce a fashion statement red chiffon creation, accessorized with sparkly black handbag and stilletto heels. Once more Paul is dragged up front. His face was at least as red as the dress. Through his eyeballs, it probably looked like Madams Linville, Anderson, and McAdams were close kin to those witches in Macbeth! He did win one concession and did not don the shoes, probably because the ambulance wasn't readily available to provide service if (when!) he would fall and suffer grave injury. The purse (and it must be said, the top of the dress!) were soon stuffed with $868 to add to the pot for the highway sign. Surely Paul has gone above and beyond and will not be subjected to this again? Therefore, the question to ponder for the next 12 months is: Who will the Hodaka witches ... errr WOMEN ... select in 2011?
