Observed Trials Results

With Jay Lael unable to attend Hodaka Days this year (and he was sorely missed!), Ed Chesnut announced that Jack Kelly had stepped up to assist with organization, along with several others volunteering to monitor riders' dabs. Ed noted a couple of memorable moments during Trials' Novice class, the first being a new rider Erick Hernandez for, by reports, his second time on a cycle. As Ed put it, "And he survived!" The second was the tie-breaker in Novice awards, with Jerry Carter squeaking past Stu Osborn in a complicated judges' decision-making process. And third, Ed and Jack used the same bike, which Ed noted did not do HIM much good ... as he handed over the penny the two had bet on the outcome.

RAFFLE WINNER

Bob Whitman admires the raffle bike just before the winning ticket was drawn. Raffle proceeds this year go to support Athena's GEM THEATER restoration project, in the hope that an approximately 6000 square feet in that building will become a nationally known (Paul Stannard says internationally known!) Hodaka Museum in 4 or 5 years.
THE RAFFLE WINNER IS GARY BJUR of ZILLAH, WA!!
[Note: For those who were at banquet, information on the winner has been corrected, and this is NOT the same
person who was injured with a broken shoulder during the Bad Rock ride.
