The observed trials event might better be titled trials and tribulations ... and, of course, triumphs. Jerry Carter and Jay Lael had laid out a course incorporating some darned tough lines out there by the grain elevators at the western end of Athena. The spectators seemed to think this was a fine way to spend a Saturday afternoon. More pictures are due to come in and will be displayed here as soon as possible.

When Jay announced winners at the banquet, he reminisced to his boyhood dreams of Hodakas as a 13-year old ... and seemed delighted about the turn of events on the expert line results. He noted that it was the first trials ever for novice participant Ben Alexander.
