Rick and MaryLou Mott, of King of Prussia, PA, ran the Field Meet this year. Winners of the events were: SLOW RACE Jay Lael, with a time of 1 minute, 4 seconds; PLANK RIDE Mike Lake in 9 seconds; and BALL 'n' BOTTLE RACE Larry Lake in 42 seconds.

Ed Chesnut's utterances about the proper attire for trials must be taking hold--seems like the event should have started with a fashion show! But after the riders meeting, these competitors got down to business on another sort of runway entirely ... tough segments mapped out by Jay Lael and Ed for novices, intermediates, and advanced.
Winners were NOVICE 1st-Jim Allen; 2nd-Rick Mott; 3rd-Jack Kelly; INTERMEDIATE 1st-Ed Chesnut in a dead heat with 2nd place Mike Lake, each with 2 points and 12 cleans; 3rd-David Perrett. Other placements were Danny Messmore (4th) and James Bodkin (5th). Jerry Carter and Kelly McKiernan also completed as Intermediates. In the ADVANCED, Jay Lael took 1st with 8 pts and 8 cleans; and Larry Lake took 2nd with 30 points and 6 cleans.
