HODAKA DAYS 2005: Sunday's Scrambles

The classes for Scrambles were divvied into:

Jim Pomeroy organized the first heats in each class to get starting line positions set for second round of heats. Then those placing tops in second heat participated in the Grand Championship rounds. The track, at Diamond Eye property, was twice as large and twice as loopty-loop as last year. Many people contributed to success of this event ... laying out the track ... providing water truck, bales, orange fencing ... hauling in tables and chairs ... acting as lap time watchers and track spotters ... racing to patch in parts and tweak fast fixes when bikes had glitches ... making sure hordes of spectators signed waivers ... sponsoring with donations and money. This event could not ever have happened and been such a great time for everyone were it not for all these contributors and volunteers.

Thal Anderson, West Coast Hodakas, posted this comment at the Hodaka forum at yahoo groups: "For the Hodaka Days scrambles I loaned Jeff Harshman my bike for the 100 reed valve class. Jeff won both races [heats] with a reed valved iron barrel Super Rat engine using a stock pipe. The bike frame is a 99 Toad fitted with 03 forks and a Westek swing arm. Thanks for the win Jeff and thanks for the support from Westek."

AND THE WINNERS ... UNCONFIRMED!!

Hitching names to race bike numbers got MORE THAN a bit confusing, as more than one rider used same bike.
