New Library Facility Photos Membership

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Athena Library Friends Association is open to all who support its mission to enhance, support, and expand the Athena Public Library's resources, facilities, and programming. You do not need to live in the library's service district to join ALFA. And, because the ALFA board is committed to very frugal operating and administrative expenses (average of 1%-2% annually), nearly all membership dues is reserved for the Building Fund through FY 2007. After that time, membership dues will support additional programming and the establishment of an endowment fund the income of which will defray other library operating costs.

Your support as a paying member in ALFA is also needed. The more paid members, the more impressed some foundations are. Paid membership also gives you a chance to nominate board candidates, RUN FOR THE BOARD YOURSELF, and to cast votes at the annual meetings. The ALFA 2007 membership year runs Feb. 1 – end Jan. The ALFA board has decided on the following dues structure for 2007:

Make checks payable to ALFA Membership. Write the membership category of your choice on the MEMO line of your check. Bring your payment to the library or mail to ALFA MEMBERSHIP, PO Box 576, Athena, OR 97813.

At all times, ALFA board and annual meetings are, however, open to the general public. The public is also welcome to peruse ALFA archives at the library, including meeting minutes, press clippings, etc.
